seasonal allergies

Is fall your allergy season? Did you know that where you live can have a major impact on your allergies?

The Allergy Capitals is an annual research project of the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) to identify “the 100 most challenging places to live with allergies” during spring and fall.

The Top Cities for Seasonal Allergies

Last year’s fall allergy report named Louisville as the #1 Fall Allergy Capital, based primarily on higher than average pollen and higher than average medication usage. Other cities in the top 5 for seasonal allergies were:

  • #2 – Witchita, Kansas
  • #3 – Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
  • #4 – Dayton, Ohio
  • #5 – McAllen, Texas

Louisville is no stranger to the number one spot, also topping the list in 2012. In fact, the city was in the top 5 last year and has been in the top 20 nine times in the past 11 years!

With Owensboro’s location so near to Louisville, we are also in for a big fall allergy season. If you have seasonal allergies, make sure you give us a call to develop the appropriate management plan for you—and follow it. Don’t let a runny nose, itchy/watery eyes, sneezing and congestion hinder you this fall.
